Jason Sosa’s video “The coming trans-human era” speaks about the development of technology, and how this transformation could be advanced to augment and enhance our life experiences. The speaker suggests that due to the exponential growth and advancement of technology, most of this technology would be used to complement our current limitations and it would be difficult to resist these changes in several fields, the most notable being biology, medicine, and anatomy. Although the speaker is pro-technology, the points and arguments he puts across are backed by research and his explanation on the effects and impacts of these are then unbiased.

Some of the ethical and moral concerns that have been raised concern the integration or augmenting of technology in human anatomy. These concerns are against complementing the natural human features or deficiencies, like brain implants. This is despite the fact that these improvements have obvious enhancement capabilities, like improving memories and mental capacities. Contrary to this, the possibilities that rise from these advancements hold the promise of overcoming conditions that have afflicted the human race for eons and these developments could help ease suffering for some of the people who have not found the solutions to their problems through traditional therapy.

I agree with Sosa’s perspective on striving for better technology and adopting a trans-human future. This is because the opportunity for enhancing human capabilities through evolution may not be enough to tackle some of the present issues. However, our shortcomings may be complemented by technology, whose exponential growth has proven to be indispensable even in our current lives. However, if the developments made would have faced resistance before their implementation or before the possibilities of their effects were explored, then we would not be benefiting from some technology constructs which we find necessary in our present life.
