One of the most elaborate themes is of an all-powerful God from the creation accounts. This implies that creation occurred at the will of God. He took only six days to create everything in the world and rested on the seventh day. This shows that He is an omnipotent God. Another imminent theme is the order out of chaos. By reading the Bible one can discern that a logical sequence of creation accounts is presented out of a situation that is in disarray. Such discernment is based on the language of scripture utilized. For instance, “And God said” “God saw that it was good” ( Testament, 2015 ). The rational organization of such events depicts that chaos is being substituted by order which was initially not present. The first day of creation depicted chaos while the last day exemplified perfect order. Such emphasis suggests that the God of the Bible is a God of order.
The theme of creation in both accounts is imminent. The earth is created out of nothing, and everything else is created out of God`s word only. God, therefore, emerges as a supreme being who is second to none. The theme of man being offered authority on earth is yet another theme that one cannot overlook based on the creation accounts. When God created man from his own image, he offered him the power to govern all other living things ( Bible, 1996 ). Man was presented the mandate of having children and filling the earth. The theme of perseverance is also evident since God only took time to rest on the seventh day after he was satisfied with the work he had done. Moreover, the theme of one rule is manifested where God gives man only one rule to follow. He expected that he will not eat fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Finally, there is a theme of freedom, where man and woman were offered the liberty to do as they pleased. This demonstrates that God is liberal-minded.
