For individuals to work together as a team towards a common goal, they undergo various stages. The fact that they are people from different backgrounds, they usually take time to get familiar with each other. Notably, without proper socializing, it becomes difficult to get used to each other. In their capacity, leaders have a role of ensuring that, members get used to each other because conflicts will only make it impossible to achieve the targeted goals and objectives. An effective leader is one that identifies conflict between individuals and uses the same to bring them together to create a conducive working environment.

The forming stage is very critical for any team. It determines whether a group or a team will continue with its operations or not. Indeed, the other stages are fairly much determined by the foundation stage. By the time group members are sharing responsibilities and duties, they do so based on the capability of each member. In fact, roles, and procedures cannot be spelt out without members having trust with each other. However, storming stage and performing stage are pretty much advanced, and the members know what they need to achieve. Accountability, and member’s contributions play a huge role, without which the group risks dying.

Notably, there are various ways of forming groups or teams. I think the most important thing is forming a functional group, complete with rules and regulations, and spelt out goals that needs to be achieved. A keen looks at the two theories reveal that, the most important ingredients in a group or team is having goals and proper leadership. Whenever team members agree to work for the common good, they should discard all their conflicts and focus on performance. Conclusively, it is evident that, the success of the two theories emanate from having healthy behaviors among members, and proper leadership.
