The Affordable Care Act (ACA) is important in laying the foundation for future economic growth and improvement of financial and well-being of families. The ACA has brought out the economies of health care, which has an impact on how patients navigate their access to care recovery and wellness. The ACA has made it easier for individuals to take a risk and start a business, taking their time out of the labor force to raise their families and even retire when they are ready. ACA has laid a foundation for future economic growth and improved families’ access to health care services in different ways.

The health economies have brought down unemployment by providing families with affordable health care services hence boosting the demands and bringing down unemployment. Millions have benefited from ACA through tax credits that help them pay their premiums. The health care economies have also helped improve health among the American citizens by making workers more productive at their jobs. The health economies through ACA have not only improved for the common citizens who do not have access to health insurance, but it has also reduced the cost of those who are already insured. Through this, it will be easier for health care workers to reduce the number of patients returning to the hospital after being discharged by ensuring higher quality for the patients. Medicare has also funded organizations based on the community level that helps the patient to move smoothly to their homes after treatment. It has also reduced job lock and encouraged job mobility and entrepreneurship. The only source of paying for insurance covers for most Americans was through their jobs, before ACA. All Americans have secure access to health insurance whether they have the money or not because ACA banned discrimination against individuals with pre-existing conditions and other strong consumer protections.

Managing benefits consolidates the existence of guidance on benefits of management onto the same place and expansion of specific techniques and practices with the aim of optimizing the realization benefits. From Downton Abbey’s plotline, there is a heated debate on hospital consolidation that is parallel what is going on in the United States today (Abbey, 2016). During the golden age, there were very few medications available including antibiotics, intravenous fluids or even insulin. The early 20th century came with the expansion of practices and techniques through guidance on the benefits of new medical technologies that came onto age.

Managing cases, on the other hand, are techniques within the health care coverage system involving an integrated system managing the health care services comprehensive delivery for the patients. From the context, some of the techniques developed to provide modern care are the X-ray machines, chemistry laboratories, and special operating rooms. Cities have also started to build bigger, grander hospitals, which enhance the efficiency and delivery of health care services to the people (Abbey, 2016). It is believed that through partnership, patients will have more access to modern equipment and advanced treatments according to Downton Abbey’s Lord Merton.

The disease management factor in the evolving paradigm has shifted as health care focus more on health than care. During the 1920s when it was beginning of the golden age in medicine, hospitals did not have much to offer for treatment of diseases. They were based on ancient time's medicine, which entailed care where patients were only fed and made comfortable (Abbey, 2016). There were no plenty of medications like antibiotics, intravenous fluids, and insulin that available now. The early 20th century came with all sorts of new medical technologies like new pathogen free surgeries, new ways to peer into the body and modern medications.
