Given the content presented in "Hi, I'm Scott," speech video, it is quite imperative to note that the general purpose of the speech outlines the essentialities of the realities of life both in school and after school. Scott Mescudi informs humanity about the power of courage that pushes people to make a living out of creativity and the sense of determination with absolute sacrifice.

The specific purpose envisaged in the TED Talk video is to enlighten people about the fact that success comes with outspoken creativity and the sense of enthusiasm to handle a variety of tasks bestowed upon an individual. Ideally, Scott outlines the fact that people are commanders of their own destinies. Consequently, Scott clarifies the essence of being a hustler as an idealistic platform of understanding one's strengths and weaknesses in a bid to select the right path and achieve success.

The central idea of the TED Talk presentation dwells on the perspective of flexibility with regard to identifying the right professional competence and personality of a person in life. Scott Mescudi engages his audience on the essence of taking chances in life, especially on the line of identifying the right profession in a bid to achieve success and accomplish the sense of self-actualization.

The fact that Scott Mescudi eventually made it in life makes the speech a success. As outlined in the video, Scott took every chance and opportunity he had in his life to achieve success without fear or favor. Based on his testimony, he engaged the right people in his line of career, did all sorts of menial jobs in New York before establishing the right platform to pursue his dream in music.

Ultimately, what was unsuccessful in the speech is based on the fact that Scott mentioned the thought of pleasing his mother by pursuing academics during his high school level. The focus should not be based on pleasing parents but giving them confidence about aspirations and dreams in life.
