The dance by the dance stars Julius Iglide Chisolm and Virgil Gadson performing on The Queen Latifah Show creates a mood. The reception of the audience points to a group of people sitting on the edge of their chairs due to some of the dance moves exhibited by the dancers. The mood of the audience is almost palpable especially as soon as Virgil Gadson joins his dance partner on the stage and then they take turns to show their dance moves. At certain times the audience is trapped between clapping and watching out for the next move, each move looks like is the climax, only to be thrilled by a seemingly better move by the duo (Latifah, 2015).

Another accomplishment I would think of has having been attained by the dance was to pass a message to inspire action to those who were watching the dance or to the immediate audience. As it is in the public domain, the star dancer Julius Chisom was born in Korea and raised in both Germany and the United States. Here, he is appearing on the Queen Latifah show which is a massive achievement. The message in here is that with the right commitment, one can become virtually anything they ever wished to become. The dance moves by the dancers are contemporary with a touch of the past dances. They are breakdancing, popping and gliding as is Julius Glides signature move. Being the groovologists they are, the duo can dance to virtually any kind of dance.

The simplicity and yet thoroughness of the dance is what I see to be the uniqueness of the dance. From the dance I learn that for dance to be highly successful it doesn’t have to be highly complicated because in the process the dancers lose some of their audience ( Schrader, 2005) . This is an aspect of dance which future dancers need to carry with them, that as they dance, there are millions of people who would want to be dancers as them and the moment they over complicate the moves, some are lost while others are discouraged. There are yet others who are bored by the complicated dance moves. Future dancers and trainers need to understand that dance does not just entertain, there are lessons to be learned and for that reason they should not make it so hard for the prospective learners. The personal connection I have with this dance is actually not a pleasant one. I have a cousin who the plays the 15 aside amateur rugby. I once went with him to the game to watch him play. Twenty one minute into the game he had had his right leg broken into three, I remember him lying on his back with his right leg movable into any direction. There is this point where Julius leans over until his back almost reaches the floor with his right foot in an awkward position, the same position I saw my cousin’s leg in. It reminds me of that day and I always watch that part over and over again, and I already showed it to my cousin.

The Broadways Dance opened in the 1920s and it highlighted the segregation which existed between the Whites and the Blacks. I was a period of economic boom in the country and people could have to attend theatres and dance halls ( Kassing, 2017) . The integration of all races and color is what would impress the audience the most. Rutgers student’s would be persuaded to buy tickets for the show because the tickets would be going a relatively lower prices in a bid to have as many attendees as possible and in the same time enjoy the economies of scale. This would be an economic advantage because any student, their background notwithstanding would be able to buy the tickets.
