Nanotechnology is proving to be a significant technological breakthrough in the modern era. It is revolutionizing most business and other fields such as energy, environmental science, food safety, expert technology, remedy, and many more. This paper will seek to provide application of nanotechnology in the field of engineering, medicine, and energy.

In engineering, nanotechnology has found considerable use in most communications, multiple electronic applications to offer faster, smaller, as well as more mobile programs that can store significant and efficient levels of understanding. These evolutions comprise of the nanoscale transistors that are fast, stable, and power efficient. Secondly, the Magnetic Random Entry Memory (MRAM) that is enhanced through the use of a nanometer magnetic tunnel junctions that can comfortably hold encrypted information in the course of a computer crash and also allows the user to resume afterwards (Liu and Hu, 2014).

The nanotechnology has also found significant application in the energy sector in the world today. It is essential to note that the issues of attaining the world power need are complexed by the dire need to guard the environment or to use it sustainably. Studies done by Baig and Beg (2016) claim that most researchers are examining new trends to help in boosting and developing renewable sources of energy. Scientists are also seeking to find new methods that will help in minimizing the energy use and at the same time save the environment from pollution. One excellent example of the application of nanotechnology in the energy field is the prototype solar panels that are using it in converting solar energy into electrical power in a more efficient manner as compared to the conventional designs (Baig and Beg, 2016). The solar panels using this technology are cheap to fabricate and quick to use considering that they can utilise the print-like manufacturing tools. Thus, nanotechnology is helping in saving the world from potential damage caused by the need to provide sufficient energy for all humans in the world.

In medicine, there is the use of nanoparticles to deliver substances, heat, other medical materials to individual cells, or heat. The particles are designed so that they get attracted to the affected cells thereby permitting for their natural treatment. For instance, there has been the use of nanoparticles in delivering chemotherapy substances to the affected cancer cells in the body of the patient (Mishra, 2016). The technique also lowers the harm that might be caused to the healthy cells in the body. It is also being used in the early detection of health conditions in patients.

In the agricultural sector, nanotechnology is widely being used in enhancing the yield of the crops in the fields. Nano agriculture comprises of the use of nanoparticles to cause more beneficial impacts to the production of the plants. For instance, there is a plan to use the nanoparticle to release pesticides or fertilize at a specified moment and location thereby enhancing the productivity of the crops (Srilatha, 2018). In space exploration, the use of Nanosensors will significantly improve high performance as well as the success of air travel. The nanotechnology electric propulsion idea seeks to use the electrostatically charged and accelerated nanoparticles as propellants in the spaceships. The particles will also be used in improving the radiation shielding strategy where it will make a significant contribution to the mortal space travels. A study done by NASA shows that there is a high danger of exposure to space radiation that is limiting the ability of people to get engaged in long-term space missions.

Water treatment using this technology will use the nanoparticles comprising of the nanotubes for nanofiltration. It will also use the current nanoscopic pores in the zeolite filtration membranes, nanocatalysts, as well as the magnetic nanoscopic particles. On the other hand, most businesses are using nanoparticles made of platinum to lower the level of platinum required in the development of the fuel cells. The nanoparticles are also being used in the price of fuel cells majorly to help in lowering the costs.
