The United States of America's government is one of the most advanced democracies in the world. America is governed by strong leadership with a clearly defined power structure, which creates a balance. There are three main branches of power in the United States Government: the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary. A developed democracy like that of America ensures a balance in the separation of powers between the various branches of government. This ensures cohesion and equal division of tasks among the divisions of government. A clear distinction of roles in the different branches in America ensures that a single person may not conduct specific functions.

The legislative branch of power in America is responsible for passing laws and overseeing their implementation, which is done by the executive and judicial branches. The legislative branch is divided into the senate and house of representatives responsible for creating the country's laws. As stipulated in the constitution, the executive branch of government is responsible for implementing laws in the country comprising the federal government. The executive is headed by the American president, who enforced these laws. The judiciary is also responsible for implementing laws as well as administering justice independently. The judiciary is also tasked with ensuring that all laws enforced are complied with.

Through an effective separation of powers enforced by the United States constitution, all three branches of the government can maintain a balance of power. Because America is a vast nation comprising of fifty states, power is diversely distributed across each state. Each state has a role in the country's democracy, which has previously led to conflicts and disagreement on law enforcement and constitution amendments. Legislative power gives Congress sole control over the division such that it may not delegate its role to any other branch of government. The constitution does not even allow the legislature to transfer its role to the executive, creating an effective balance of power in the United States.

The united states constitution I the single unifying series of articles acting as the supreme law in America enacted to bring the balance of powers through separation. Formulation of the United States constitution brought about what is referred to as a system of checks and balances. This system ensures that no branch of government becomes more powerful than the other such that an imbalance may arise. However, occasional conflicts in law or constitutional amendment proposals may lead to an imbalance of power in America. An example is in the case of the National Security Budget of America, which seems to be amended with every presidential regime. Another instance is the abuse of the office of the president, which President Trump has been accused of on several occasions. One such occasion is a delay on military aid to Ukraine ordered by President Trump to leverage information on an impending investigation (Dawsey, 2019).

Over the years, the executive has proven to wield more power in America than the rest of the branches of government. However, the separation of powers and the powerful American constitution has stepped in to bring balance with an example of President's Trump decision to declare a national emergency to seek funding for a proposed border wall between America and Mexico (Trimble, 2019). There is some imbalance of power from a recent event and controversial regimes, including the current Trump administration. The constitution has done a great job of maintaining a balance of power between all institutions of power. However, the executive, governed by the United States president, has been previously known to overreach its authority for political self-interest. The united states constitution is amended by the legislature impartially to ensure no division of government exercises more power than the other, which maintains the balance of power in the country.
