A global approach to activities improves a team’s success. The business environment, today, has become very competitive, and it is only a global mindset that can give a team a competitive advantage over other teams. According to Levy et al. (2015), a global mindset encompasses three perspectives: strategic, multidimensional and cultural. For a team to be able to incorporate a global mindset into their activities successfully, three complementary aspects need to be carefully handled.
First, the team members should be aware and open to the fact that there are various spheres of actions and meaning. That has to do with the cultural perspective of a global mindset. In this case, a team should be able to overcome ethnocentricism and rise above nationally established views. Members should be ready to incorporate foreign practices and values into their activities.

The second is that a team should articulate and represent the dynamics of culture and strategy. That has to do with the complexities that are encountered due to strategic and environmental differences around the world.
The third aspect is the integration and mediation of ideals and actions both on the local and global market. Karlsson and Udda (2006), propose that it is essential for a team to know how companies succeed in international markets. The authors refer to this as a “Glocal Mindset.” It entails awareness of how the foreign environment operates.
This mindset creates a balance between local and global strategies. It means that every member of the team has to deeply, understand the values, views, and the environment that surrounds both the local and global market. The members should have vital mastery of the vision and mission of their local activities so that they can shape and align them to the global environment.
