The Benefits of Having a Mentoring Plan

I am aware that one would require proper counseling and guidance as relates to Logistics, in order to become a competent logistician even after having graduated. As such, I am looking forward to meeting a mentor with at least five years of experience in Logistics, as well as in career development, who will be in a position to offer his best to nurture my skills for the future. In addition to the already mentioned requirements, the person must be willing to complement my style, be a lateral thinker, be honest, dedicated, willing to learn, empathetic, and be a holder of a Master’s degree and above. A mentor is akin to a mountaineering guide. It is a fact that they have not at all times gone through similar pathways that I have taken. As such, the mentor should not expect to spoon-feed me with answers even if he has. Instead, I expect the mentor to help me prevail over my problems devoid of taking the wheels directly. Therefore, listening and communication skills are critical during the mentoring process. I also expect a mentor who will consider sharing broad perceptions to help me learn new things in my career.
