Hobbies are vital to people considering that they manage to train and condition their brains effectively. Conditioning the brain to think like a winner is a key characteristic in hobbies like sports and athletics. Sports help people develop a mindset of a winner and leads to motivation and high spirits which enhances the rate of success. Such a mindset when translated into the careers helps people develop a burning desire to achieve success, moreover, the motivation and the winner mentality developed in hobbies results in a shining career (Liddle et al., 2013). Furthermore, hobbies help people learn to train their brains to develop techniques and strategies that ensure they overcome their challenges, conversely, these techniques are a boost in careers as one is able to solve challenges that are associated with the career and those in personal lives as well..

Self-discipline and time management

Most hobbies train people to effectively discipline themselves. This follows as hobbies require highest form of discipline to ensure you achieve success while also having fun in the process ("How your hobbies can boost your career", 2016). Hobbies such as soccer ensure that people obey the numerous rules of the game which if not obeyed leads to punishments that may cost the team valuable points hence everyone knows that they owe it to their teams to follow the rules and achieve success as they enjoy the game. Such people translate the self-discipline traits into their careers ensuring they follow certain policies and goals they set to attain their goals and those of the organization.

The virtue of time management is instilled in people who engage is leisure activities especially sports. In sports, people know that they have to manage their time well as they try to achieve success in their hobbies. An example is running or athletics where the runners have a set time in which they have to finish certain lapse. Similarly, this virtue of time management when used in one’s career enables them to perform certain tasks within the set time by the organization. Career people learn to finish their assignments within the time frames due to the valuable skills they attain from hobbies ( Foust, 2014).

Relationship between hobbies and focus

According to life coaches, yoga enables one to improve the general work performance (Foust, 2014). Yoga is an activity that enables one to connect with both the body, mind and spirit. It is believed that Yoga enables one meditate on the things and life goals that they want to attain in their life. Moreover, it is a form of self-exploration enabling one to learn the weaknesses and the strengths they have and how they can attain success having known themselves better. Yoga helps career persons detox every toxic energy in their body shaping them and bringing them assurance and the mindset of a winner (Foust, 2014)

Moreover, other careers are very demanding and stressful hence yoga as a hobby ensures one learns to get rid of the stress and manage it to help them function well. These leisure activities help reduce levels of depression and negative feelings at the end of the day. People leave their careers at the end of the day stressed and confused, however, the various hobbies they have helps them unwind and bringing fun back to their lives despite the stressful day they had. Moreover, a happy person is very productive, therefore, hobbies ensure people go back to work fresh and focused on the activities they want to undertake. Yoga is a good source of recharge and increasing one’s memory capacity. As one meditates during yoga, great strength and energy return to one’s body (Topiwala et.al, 2014).

The energy and positivity acquired in hobbies enables one to focus in their career objectives, moreover, it helps develop a strong memory that helps when performing the duties which require some skills learnt earlier. Physical health is another key issue that hobbies help with. It is not a must for a hobby to be physically demanding to correlate with better health (Adams-Price & Morse, 2018). According to studies conducted by psychologists, it was discovered that people who involved in a enjoyable hobbies had lower body mass index, blood pressure, waist circumference and total cortisol (Topiwala et.al, 2014). Moreover, people who engaged in hobbies such as sports, swimming and other physically demanding activities reduced chances of illnesses such as heart disease, obesity, diabetes and other diseases which occur due to lack of physical activities. Therefore, hobbies are related to better health which means that people have the opportunity to concentrate on their careers without having to worry about seeking medical help of staying at home due to a disease (Liddle et al., 2013).

The virtues of accountability and training propel a career person to do the same in a career as they already know there is no shortcut to success rather than training and being accountable to personal goals and objectives ("How your hobbies can boost your career", 2016) . When personal skills lead to success, confidence is boosted and the belief that they are capable of doing anything they set their mind on. Self-reliance in a career takes people to great lengths.

When venturing into a new thing or boosting of a career to another level, training one’s self to figure out things alone is very beneficial.

In conclusion, hobbies play a vital role in restructuring careers persons. Careers are filled with pressure and stress which if not managed can negatively affect somebody.
