Benchmarking tools have several advantages. They are important in ensuring the outcome of benchmarking helps the organization to increase efficiency in its operation. This is possible through the establishment of areas of weaknesses or parts that an organization is struggling in and hence, putting measures in place to deal with such a problem. Also, since it has a direct impact on the operation of an organization, it positively influences patient's satisfaction by impacting their health positively (McCullough, 2010).

Internal benchmarking is one of the approaches that help different departments in a healthcare facility to optimally operate. Tools used in this approach can promote a culture of safety in a healthcare organization if other departments, for example, emulate the operation of departments such as that of emergency and surgery department. In competitive benchmarking, healthcare institutions can benefit by using different benchmarking tools that help them promote a culture of safety just as some other external organization does (Amigoni et al., 2013).

Effective teams are instrumental in contributing to high-quality healthcare in that they help in the achievement of organizational goals and objectives. This is possible when such teams work in accordance with the organizational values ( Mickan, Sharon & Rodger, 2005). Also, such teams are important in creating a strong network of individuals who can brainstorm and come up with innovative ideas to solve the evolving challenges that are encountered in healthcare. In relation to the above, such teams contribute to a culture of safety by ensuring all the projects they pioneer ensure patient’s safety. Besides, safety being a central consideration in different healthcare settings, such teams are likely to contribute to a culture of safety by advocating for the implementation of safety measures in different healthcare settings.
