The best advice that I have ever received from an entrepreneur came from Steve Jobs while reading one of his presentations when he was the CEO of Apple Inc. Steve Jobs remains one of the greatest entrepreneurs and marketers of the century. Further, he provided greatest inspiration to many aspiring entrepreneurs in the world. Through his presentation and how he worked his ideas demonstrate that successful entrepreneurship requires clarity and transparency in developing products and solutions for different markets. Steve Jobs demonstrated too through his operations that without clarity and transparency, it is difficult for an entrepreneur to develop trusting and confident relationships with stakeholders; especially investors and customers. Jobs showed that clarity and transparency should be translated in team settings with a view of increasing participation and generation of ideas that will lead to long-term sustainability and success in their business models. Clarity implies that one must attain effective way of communicating their ideas and marketing them efficiently to enhance their market share and attract customers.
Apple is known for clear-cut technologies that encompass simplicity and user friendly. These components are clearly demonstrated based on how Jobs executed his role and responsibilities. More transparency is needed when taking one’s team to the next level. Transparency allows teams to have a clearer vision, generate effective strategies and ensure that all members of the team are on board. It is essential to ensure that each member of the team is on board before making any decision concerning operations of the business. These concepts from Steve Jobs illustrate the need to have a team that is aware of its goals and ultimate directions. As such, I would say that Jobs advice is the best that I have ever received in relation to team effectiveness and idea generation.
