My name is Shafiq Mohammad Khalil. I am a civil engineer of an Indian nationality. The aim of writing this motivation letter is to seek a place in the Tallinn University of Technology for the Master’s program in Environmental Engineering and Management. I feel that if given the opportunity to further my education in the field of environment, I would be in a better position to use the knowledge gained to make life-changing discoveries on the state of the environment. The Tallinn University is of particular interest to me due to its excellence in research and innovations. The university’s world-renowned reputation and its commitment to innovation that continues to change the operations of the globe have attracted me to seek admission and be part of a progressive, self-driven and dynamic group of students.
The investigative nature of the Environmental Engineering and Management program deeply fascinates me. The way the Master’s program is structured to concentrate on seeking solutions to the problem of inadequate sanitation facilities in the environment has been the real driver behind my application for this position in Tallinn University. Through the Environmental Engineering and Management program, my research question of interest that centers on how best to achieve global environmental sustainability will be answered. According to the UN secretary-general, Mr. Antonio Guterres, environmental sustainability is critical for not only global equity but for promoting the right to life, liberty, and security. For me, having been raised in a community that was faced by acute water shortages, and poor environmental conditions ignites the urge of finding solutions to providing enough water for the environment is undoubtedly a very exciting prospect.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
The Master’s program of Environmental Engineering and Management also deals with the concepts surrounding environmental toxicology. Various studies and white papers have highlighted the need for campaigns and efforts geared towards tackling the spiraling air pollution as well as land and water quality degradation across the world. More environmental ills that include climate change, micro-plastic pollution, and crimes against wildlife are some of the factors that affect the health and wellbeing of the society and its economy. Back in my country, and indeed in many other developing economies, the problem of effective waste management is a perpetual issue. As an environmental professional, undertaking the Master’s program will not only expand the scope of my thinking but provide an interactive platform for me to share ideas with colleagues and students. I will be able to research on the subject by taking advantage of the vast resources Tallinn University has to offer.
The Master’s program also encompasses research on the environmental impact and assessment among others. I feel that, if given the opportunity, undertaking training on how to accurately assess and quantify the impact of human activities on the environment will be of particular importance to the rest of the third world countries. I would use the knowledge learned for consultative service. I believe the underdeveloped countries lack qualified and trusted professionals to help them effectively navigate the problem of murky waters from the disposal of human and industrial waste while balancing performance and cost effectiveness. In the course of undertaking my Master’s program, I intend to center my research on the ways to effectively reduce the scourge of waste disposal into the environment.
I have professional qualifications and experiences working in the field, which I believe will give me a head start in conducting the research on the Environmental Engineering and Management as per the requirements of the program. My experiences working in the field have also been crucial for developing my capacity building skills, which will surely come in handy in the course of my program. For example, while working as a civil engineer, I have been able to train three new employees who have successfully assumed the required duties at the Vibhore Vibhave Infra Home (VVIH) Pvt. LTD. My experience in expanding the intellectual capacity of the company, I believe, will prove useful in the application of what I have learned from the master’s program.
The interpersonal skills that I have gained from the meetings with the clients, asset owners, and other stakeholders will be of a great asset when it comes to my interaction with my fellow students in the course of my program. While working as a civil engineer for VVIH, the meetings on project development that I attended with the clients have shaped by attributes to being receptive to the cultural practices of different peoples. I have been able to appreciate diversity in ideas and ways of thinking, which I believe will be crucial to the interactions with my colleagues. Further, I have excellent mastery of the English language, an incredibly universal tool of communication in such a culturally diverse community of Tallinn University.
In conclusion, I would like to restate my unwavering interest in the position of the Master’s program in Environmental Engineering and Management at the esteemed Tallinn University of Technology. I have been motivated by the desire to be a driver of positive environmental change in my community, my country and the rest of the world, especially in underdeveloped countries. I feel that the best way to protect our environment is by understanding the intricate details of its continued degradation and the ways to mitigate the adverse factors. I believe that upon completion of the master’s program, I will be better equipped to influence policies geared towards sustainable and efficient environmental management techniques. In case needed for the interview, it would be an honor to avail myself. My contacts are; phone no: (0093) 764232338 and my e-mail address: Shafiq.muhammad_94@yahoo.com.
