The Book of Acts talks about the concept of the holy spirit. It describes the Holy Spirit as the one who gives the church the power to have and live changed lives and to spread the gospel. The Book of Acts records that the Holy Spirit helped in the performance of numerous symbols and miracles that validated the work of the Apostles and other leaders of the early church. The book also tells if the great courage the early Christians had as a result of the Holy Spirit. In short, the Book of Acts follows the actions of the Apostles that spread the gospel.
I find it significant that the book of acts communicates about the power of the holy spirit. From the beginning, the Book of Acts talks about the Holy Spirit coming to the people when Jesus talks to the apostles about the kingdom. Jesus told his disciples of the kingdom of heaven after his forty days in the wilderness (Acts 1:3). In Act 1:4-8, Jesus tells the Apostles not to leave Jerusalem but to wait for the gift that the Father had promised which was the Holy Spirit. Jesus then continues to tell the apostle of what the Holy Spirit will do for them in Acts 1:8, which indicates that the disciples will receive empowerment after the Holy Spirit comes them and therefore, they will be able to preach the word of God in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria as well as other parts of the earth. This verse indicates that when the Holy Spirit gets to a person, that person will have the power to spread the gospel everywhere. The Book of Act continues to explain that the Holy Spirit is a helper who empowers people to accomplish the worthiness of spreading the gospel with no fear of the challenges that may come.

The Book of Acts also shows how the Apostle got the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. Acts 2:1-4 contains the story of how the Holy Spirit outpoured to the apostles. When the day of Pentecost arose, the apostles were assembled in one room when the Holy Spirit came with sounds of a violent wind from heaven. The Holy Spirit was revealed in the form of “tongues of fire” that separated the apostles and rested on their heads. After that, all the apostles were complete with the Holy Spirit and at that time could speak in other tongues with the help of the Holy Spirit. It is evident that the Holy Spirit is divine and miraculous. By speaking in other tongues, the apostles would be able to spread the gospel of Jesus far and beyond.
The book of Acts also signifies that in order to receive the Holy Spirit, one has to repent and be baptized. The issue of baptism is seen in Acts 2:38 which states Peter emphasizes on the issue of repentance and forgiveness in the name of Jesus Christ. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. From this chapter, it is evident that the Holy Spirit resents sinners, and thus, being purified helps one receive the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is thus depicted as a significant part in the spread of the gospel throughout the world. The spirit guided the apostles in bringing more people to accept the word, as seen in Acts 5 when Peter gives a sermon that expands the church from 120 people to 3000 people. It is evident that the spirit was the guiding power towards the expansion of the church.
