When researching and presenting a scientific phenomenon on the genetically modified organism in the natural sciences and evaluating the sources, a researcher may experience several challenges when trying to analyze a scientific source. Most often, scientists spend a lot of time when searching for information from several sources, such as journals, books, and databases. One of the critical challenges that scientists usually face includes scholarly misconduct and lack of appropriate information ( Klümper, & Qaim, 2014) . These may include fabrication of results, as well as manipulation of data, which provides for plagiarism. In addition, several publications contain incorrect bibliographic citation coupled with several other errors. As such, the potential for misinformation is a significant concern for science researchers.

The other challenge is that the process of conducting research does not always involve a collection of information from participants. As such, there is a massive amount of data that is gathered through routine management information systems or other research activities. However, there are other concerns about secondary data analysis, which mainly focus on the potential harm to the individual subjects ( Yang & Chen, 2016) . If the data lacks identifying information or coded in a manner that prevents the researcher from accessing the information, such challenges may be unavoidable. Researchers also experience a concern based on the data archiving process, which may expose the personal views of the subjects ( Augoustinos, Crabb, & Shepherd, 2010) . The other challenge associated with the kind of research is the fact that mandated GMO labeling is not supported by scientific research. Due to certain conditions, under which data is gathered, the replication of the information later may raise additional ethical concerns.

It is essential to formulate specific guidelines concerning the reuse of information already gathered by other researchers. However, researchers ought to be aware of bias in research, which may occur purposefully or unintentionally. Bias may result in false conclusions, which may be potentially misleading. The above mentioned are some of the challenges that a researcher may face when analyzing and presenting a scientific phenomenon on the genetically modified organism.
