Various laws protect employees from their employers’ retaliation. The employee at East Coast Waffles, Inc. did not claim the whistleblower status, and their employment was terminated. Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Acts declares that an employee should not be discriminated against based on their race, gender, and nationality (U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, n.d.). The employer illegally dismissed the employee given Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act states that it is illegal to dismiss workers without adhering to their contracts. Therefore, the fired employee can seek legal assistance for unlawful dismissal. The employer should reinstate the fired employee and be cautioned to abide by labor policies in their jurisdiction. The employer should have addressed the complaint critically to determine the ideal approach to the situation.
