The research paper plans to investigate the aspect of the European colonization of the United States. To find out more about the topic, the research will set out to answer key questions that will also guide the paper to focus on the topic. The research questions are as follows: Question one: what were the factors that led to the initial victory of the European colonizers over the native Americans? Question two: what were the main steps taken by the Americans in the process of gaining independence? Question three: what was the overall impact of the colonization period on America after independence? In addition to that, the research paper will adopt a thesis statement that summarises the assertion that the colonization period as experienced by native Americans and the struggle for independence had an overall impact that was more positive than negative to the general development of the nation.

The paper will follow a plan that is academically acceptable. Firstly, an introduction paragraph that starts with an introductory sentence and ends with a thesis statement will be written. Subsequently, the body paragraphs that contain the literature review, methodology, results, and discussion paragraphs will follow in that order. Once these have been written, a conclusion paragraph will be written which brings to summation all the items discussed. The relevant sources that will be used in the paper will include scholarly materials produced and published by credible sources such as the national archive website, the digital collection of the library of congress, and other scholarly works written by history scholars published in history journals. Such journals include The Journal of American History, The American History Review, and The Journal of Social History. To access, the above sources, an internet search will be conducted since all the named journals and websites are updated electronically in their respective sites.
