The law will also bar insurance companies from denying people with preexisting medical conditions insurance and increase the age of dependents coverage under their guardians or parents’ insurance plans for up to 26 years (Commonwealth Fund, Oct. 2015). More focus will also be put into preventive and health promotive efforts, rather than focusing on the treatment of ailments. For instance, vaccination programs are meant to become free. The government will also lift the lifetime limit on coverage by insurance plans. With increased affordability of healthcare services, the health status of the population will rise.
