From people born in 1945 and before to those born in the current time, there are five generations in between. The earliest generation being Silent Generation or Traditionalists being born in 1945 and before. The generation that follows them is the Baby Boomers who were born in the late 40s and early 60s. After the Baby Boomers, the generation that follows is the Generation X, who were born between the late 60s and 70s. Gen Y, who were born between the 80s and 90s, later follows Generation X. The latest generation is the Millennial who were born from 2000 to the current time. In this article, I am going to present the different generations starting from the Baby Boomers to the Millennium kids. There are diverse differences between the generations, which I am going to cover along with their experiences and characteristics (Pastorino, 2016).
Baby boom
The baby boom is the period that there was a high experience of the birth rate. Baby boomers are the second generation covering the largest population of over 20% of the total. They dominate in the workplaces due to their big numbers. People in this bracket are often seen to be hardworking and productive. However, they have a low tendency to adapt into the tech-savvy. Baby boomers view work as a career and an exciting adventure where they work and retire (Ting, 2017).

Baby bust
Baby bust is the decrease in the rate at which children are born. Baby bust is related to Generation X where the birth rate between the 60s and 70s was remarkably low. People who fall under this generation are estimated to be 46 million, which is relatively low compared to 80 million of baby boomers and 78 million of the millennium. Generation X grew up in a time of soaring divorce and economic instability. Due to the hardship experienced by this generation, a big number of them have adapted entrepreneurship skills and have emerged to be great entrepreneurs (Thau, 2000).
Generation Y
Generation Y comes after Generation X, the generation that preceded them. In comparison with Generation X, people who fall under this generation are more technologically savvy due to the exposure media and growth with the information age. Due to the much access to technology, they are optimal for occupations that are computer-based (Ting, 2017).
Millennium kids
Millennium kids are of the generation that is linked up with internet and technology since day one. The millennium kids have made technology a culture influencing other generations to use technology. They grow up with smartphones, social media, advanced technology and internet pressure. Among all the ages, Millennium kids are the most educated with the highest quality of education among them being extremely technology savvy (Pastorino, 2016).
Conclusion
The different generations grew up in a different era all having different life experience and taking a different perspective on life. As time goes by and generations develop, the newer generation is exposed to many opportunities such as education and diverse careers as we approach the technology and internet era.
