Current nursing practices rely heavily on evidence-based practices to provide quality and coordinated care to all patients. With many nursing journals and conferences available to disseminate new nursing knowledge and EBP, the choice boils down to one's preferences. The International Journal of Nursing Studies (IJNS) and the Annual Research and Evidence-Based Practice Conference are two choices that are suitable to present my project. With various nursing journals present, the IJNS boasts one of the highest Impact Factors (ELSEVIER, n.d.). The impact factor is a measure of the number of citations received in a particular year, indicating how relevant the journal source is to nursing. Moreover, the journal also provides health professionals with a forum to present their nursing findings related to a wide range of issues and areas, including health care delivery, management in nursing, and midwifery, among other nursing-related fields.
The IJNS also publishes original peer-reviewed health journals related to international health care and other topics of interest to nursing. As such, it makes the journal a global leadership champion in spreading nursing knowledge to millions of people across the world. Once a publication is submitted to the journal, less time is taken from the initial screening to post-acceptance publication. Despite the current health pandemic and the postponement of major global nursing events, the Annual Research and Evidence-Based Practice Conference remains a viable option to present my project. The conference packs many health scholars and scientists who meet to share knowledge, research, and evidence on existing or emerging health issues. Organizers of the annual event, UCLA Health, recognize the need for burses` role in research and the benefits of evidence-based practices to health provision and patient outcomes (UCLAHealth, n.d.). Therefore, the conference will offer me an opportunity to indulge with other like-minded professionals.
