The first principle that encourages companies to fight corruptions in its all form can be applied in the real world in many ways. For instance, if a contractor applies for a contact in the United Nation with the aim of getting a tender to supply goods or offer services, it is unethical for them to come and buy the procure lunch in order to influence their decision of issuing the tender. According to UN rules, the procurement officers should not let their choice of contractors be affected by incentives that contractors offer as bribes ( Bäumlisberger, 2017)

The second principle encourages the development of rules that are strict and defines all form of corruption and their consequences. Corruption is usually deep-rooted in procurement offices: the people who have qualified for tender are not given and the United Nation has expressed the need for corruption to be dealt with iron fist. United Nations mentioned New Zealand and Finland has best examples of the countries that have dealt with corruption and other countries should emulate them ( Bäumlisberger, 2017)

List two dimensions of the Dow Jones Global Sustainability Index. Why are these important? Provide an example of each.

The two dimensions of Dow Jones Global Sustainability Index are social dimensions and economic dimensions.

The companies listed in Dow Jones Global Sustainability Index are assessed based on their cultural dimensions. Social dimensions are very important for each company. If a company has better roles, rules, norms, and values which constitutes social dimension then competent and elite employees would be attracted to work with the company since there is a good working environment for workers. A company like Walmart is best suited for employees since their social needs are taken care of. Workers in Walmart are in the better working environment, women are not harassed and the roles of each of employee are well defined hence eliminating conflict in roles ( Zhu, Liu, & Lai, 2016)

Also, economic dimensions are used to assess companies in Dow Jones Global Sustainability Index. This dimension is important to Dow Jones Global Sustainability Index because it helps assess the economic impact that the companies have on the local communities and to the rest of the world ( Zhu et al 2016) . For instance, Coca-cola Company is based in many countries and the direct economic impact that it has had on the local communities is by employing the local people from the region the plant has been erected hence raising their living standards.

List two ways someone might respond to the “Call to Adventure” and give an example of each (you can use yourself or a movie).

By examining one’s life and envision where you are headed.

Sometimes in life, we tend to continue working hard for long period of time with the hope of attaining success but in the end, success tends to elude those who are serious in life and work much hard and favors who work smart. John has been working hard in the class reading volume of books so that he can improve his grades, unfortunately, his grades keep on deteriorating whereas Mary does little reading but passes highly ( Turner, 2017) . It is important for John to examine his life and see where he is headed, so as to realize what he was doing wrong in his studies.

List the qualities of the life and what you want, include your talents, passions, values and what you like to do when young.

Sometimes in life, it is good to start from the basic in order to realize one’s happiness and the person that is good to assess the quality of life that we leave in. Mary has been unhappy with her five-year marriage so, in order to regain her happiness, she needs to reflect on her life and start from the basics of the things that made her happy from a younger age ( Turner, 2017)

Give an example the Information Giving Approach to cross-cultural training (or another approach to cross-cultural training)

Cross-cultural training mostly occurs in an international organization in order to help employees to appreciate one another’s culture and the background of each employee. This training is necessary for every organization especially the international organization which employs people from a variety of races that has different cultures. If an organization employs people from different races that have a dynamic culture the probability of them getting along well is low since some people would perceive their culture to be more superior to others ( Lenartowicz et al 2014) . When this occurs the likelihood of the international organization in question to find itself in disarray arising out of discrimination by culture is high.

Recently Starbuck Company was caught in the mess of cultural discrimination. An employee in Starbuck called the cops on two black males who were in the hotel waiting for their friend so that they could discuss business related issues. But since the employee did not embrace the black culture cops were called on the two blacks since some white Americas believe that black culture is violent and they posed a security threat to the people in that hotel ( Lenartowicz et al 2014) . As a result of the drama which was caused in Starbuck, the management rolled up a massive campaign in all Starbuck hotels with the aim of educating its employees on the need to embrace the diversity of culture and race.
