The Gospel of Luke describes the kingdom of God as a unique society that is characterized by Apostles doing the will of God. The Kingdom of God is also considered as the church because the mission started and commissioned by Jesus Christ is continually being exercised in church. The work emulated and continued by the Apostles encompass the teachings and miracles of Jesus Christs. Therefore, from the Gospel, it is conspicuous that Apostles are expected to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.

Several issues emerged from the readings of the gospel. The apostles had the same vision as Jesus Christ, and this resulted in the setup of mission centers of Faith, where they could spread the word of God. In this accord, aspects and actions that Jesus did, but were grinned upon by the mainstream society at the time were replicated by the Apostles ( Allison, 2010) . Moreover, it also emerged as ironical that Jesus advocated for respecting authority, but he preached on the Sabath and healed on the Sabbath day, a practice that was deemed controversial and a violation of the Hebrew laws.

The Kingdom of God is aimed to undo injustice and welcomes everyone to the table to share the body of Christ. The central theme that interested me in the readings is the forgiveness of sin and the fact that Jesus had a distinctive role in the kingdom of God ( Allison, 2010) . The underlying assumption is that all people are sinners and deserve God's judgement. However, because of his love and mercy, he sent his son Jesus Christ to dies for people’s sins. The second iconic theme is the power of prayers. According to the gospel of Luke, Jesus went to the mountain to pray. Through prayers, Jesus performed an array of miracles that range from healing the sick, the deaf, and raising the dead. The bottom line is through the nature of Christs as depicted in the gospel of Luke, I was able to understand and appreciate the nature of Christ.
