Corona Virus 2019 (COVID-19) has necessitated governments in affected nations globally to design public health policies that help to flatten the curve of person to person infections. The impacts of the strategies have resulted in mixed reactions from the public based on expected impacts. For instance, the United States has designed a public health policy that mandates Americans to wear masks when in public spaces. The state has also issued guidance on how to wear face masks and the outcomes for non-adherence (@LanneaLaestad, 2020). The mandatory facemask wearing impacts my community directly because some of my neighbors contracted COVID-19 because they did not wear masks in public spaces. The state's sensitization on the critical role of a face mask will help reduce infection rates in my community that has spiked recently.
The state's requirement that American citizens must wear face masks may be increasingly active through interdisciplinary collaboration. Various benefits may accrue when medical practitioners from different fields combine efforts to sensitize the community and uphold the wearing of facemasks. First, health facilities will experience enhanced positive patient outcomes. For instance, a patient with chronic kidney disease is highly vulnerable and is at risk of contracting COVID-19 from infected persons because of low immunity. The patient may be under management care by a nephrologist, psychologist, orthopedist, and general nurses. When the patient wears a mask when visiting a public place, they enhance their recovery rate and ease the interdisciplinary team's efforts. Second, a team approach is essential to increase adherence rates to state rules. All medical practitioners from various disciplines must sensitize their patients on the importance of wearing face masks. Hence, the interdisciplinary approach is essential for the enhanced execution of facemask wearing health policy.

The mandatory wearing of face-masks health strategy by the government raises several ethical concerns. For instance, it would be unethical to subject a child below five years to wear a mask because children are not capable of controlling their breath under face masks (Conner, 2020). Moreover, babies may not be aware that they can adjust their face masks regularly when they have difficulties in breathing after using the medical equipment for long periods. Hence, a child may quickly suffocate, and in extreme circumstances, the child may die. Second, some extremist service providers may fail to offer services to clients that visit their shops for assistance. For healthcare and law enforcement, essential services may discriminate clients who have not adhered to the government directive to wear masks while one is in public environments. For instance, it would be unethical to refuse to cater to a woman in labor because she arrives at the emergency without a facemask. Therefore, the mandatory wearing of face masks has many ethical concerns.
The below tweet summarizes my opinions on the mandatory wearing of facemasks.
The United States government has mandated citizens to wear face masks to stop the spread of Corona Virus 2019. There is need for interdisciplinary team approaches to sensitize patients on government directives to stop the spread of the virus # Dealing with COVID-19#Wear Mask and sanitize #Ethical concerns of the health policy.
