The chronicle details the age of Anglo-French age and raging rivalry. The scope of the coverage of the chronicle is from the deposition of Edward II to the crumble and the associated downfall of Richard II. Furthermore, Froissart extensively portrays the stories of knights in battles of Calais, Sluys, Poitiers, and Crecy. Even though the emphasis was on war and the behavior of knights, the source also gives the reader a glimpse into the life of peasants.
