The Hunting Ground Documentary is about the growing and prevailing cases of sexual assault in numerous colleges and universities. The main issue highlighted in the film is that the universities are not taking the issue seriously and providing more security for the students. The chain of rape assaults has grown into a culture making it look like it is just a normal thing to do since there are no dire consequences for these choices. It goes into detail about some of the rape and assaults students have gone through during their time in their college careers (Boyle, 2015) . The documentary affected many people and changed their beliefs towards the issue.

The film shows that the college handled the actions of these rapists more prematurely than most Ivy League universities did. The big money donors who support most of the activities in the campuses influence most establishments in these colleges. The universities try to silence the assaulted students rather than offer legal action and emotional counselling. They do this to prevent too many rape cases from going out into the public and tarnishing the name of the campus. This would bring dire consequences such as cutting off donations due to the bad public image. Ivy League Universities have a reputation to uphold and are not controlled by individual donor ships. They ensure that such cases are dealt with appropriately. The documentary however failed to present the facts of the Harvard story, according to 19 Harvard law professors, where they brought forth a false picture of the general sexual assault and of the student Brandon Winston.

Aggressive hyper-masculine groups in campuses such as fraternities and sports groups are the most common suspects who undertake these heinous acts. One in five college women will be assaulted during their time in campus and remain silent due to the negative atmosphere in this campuses which restrains them from seeking justice (Boyle, 2015) . The film keeps some of the names confidential, but names some including one particular African American student accused of raping a white woman. The campus seemed to protect the Quarterback from this case due to his commercial value and sports prowess. A Notre Dame Officer criticized the way The University of Carolina handled these cases. He was not allowed to question the alleged perpetrator at any time when the student way on the athletic department area. The film also shows Jameis Winston who was a star quarterback for the Florida State Seminoles football team. He was accused of sexually assaulting Erica Kinsman and she was not allowed to speak about. She was only able to open up about the incident during filming.

Rape is a disrespect of human life value and goes against many life principles that are supposed to guide individuals on how to relate with one another. I would react very angrily and displeased if something like that happened to someone I loved or someone close to me since even I would not think of committing such an act. It degrades the person it is done to and lowers their self-esteem in society. They are unable to reach out socially to anyone since they fear it might happen to them again. These perpetrators should put themselves in the shoes of the people whom they assault or better yet imagine if it happened to one of their family members.

To reduce these incidents, students should become more aware and assertive to reduce their risk of becoming easy targets. Students should also walk in a steady open place holding their head up in confidence. This reduces their outward look of seeming vulnerable to the perpetrator. Once attacked, students should try in whatever way they can to draw attention to themselves (Newman, 2018) . These way students stand a better chance of protecting themselves against rape assaults. Universities should also be more severe on anyone who thinks about or tries to commit such an assault.
