The ideal feminine beauty in the United States is currently being viewed differently as how it’s always been seen in previous times. But what’s affecting this definition of beauty?
Over the ages, beauty has been associated with tallness and whiteness, tallness even came to being termed as the perfect beauty defined as “American height”. Beauty has also been long associated with whiteness of a lady. Until the late 1950s, people of African, Asian or Latino origin were not allowed to participate in beauty pageants, due to this, beauty was only defined by one color, white.

The first challenge that the ideal beauty faces is the fact that the slimness of a person no longer defines absolute beauty, even in modelling. People have moved to defining beauty based on the body masculinity. Ladies with more masculine body tend to be seen as more attractive, this in turn has affected the general optimism of the thinness to define beauty. People have moved to judging beauty based on toned body shapes with a relatively ‘flat tummy’ and a near round torso and abdomen.
Secondly, the whiteness definition of a woman’s beauty has been push to talk as people are looking at the term ‘whiteness’ differently, in the United States for instance, this has been looked at from a racial point of view and pushed away. Secondly, adapting to new lifestyle to gain masculinity has proved a hard task for the whites, this has left the body and skin toning to the people of other origins, this affects the term and view of beauty as a lucrative one-man-show.
These effects have been propelled by social media which has popularized masculinity. Social media has a huge effect, this has even resulted to people of thinner body complexity being mocked on media. This in turn kills the morale of those considered beautiful therefore also killing young talent.
In summary, the definition of beauty as it’s always been seems to be fading and people seldom define beauty as the subject topic.
