The law in Working Families Flexibility act proposes to give hourly workers more time with their families by allowing them to choose paid time offs as compensation for working for more than 40 hours a week (“Working Families Flexibility Act of 2017”, 2019) . This is done through an agreement between the employer and the employee. Workers according to this bill, will receive compensation at a rate which is proposed to be not more than one and a half hours for every hour in the workplace for which, overtime compensation is required. The employer will give this compensatory time just if such occasions is given in agreements between the employer and employee that has been affirmed or perceived as the representative of the workers under relevant law (Horowitz, 2019) . According to the bill, the employer may also provide compensatory time just if such occasions is accommodated by work association that has been affirmed or recognized as a representative of such employees. An understanding landed at between the employer and the employee before the execution of the work a written or otherwise a valid record is considered according to section 11 (C). This section considers working with agreements whereby employees have agreed to choose a compensatory time in which the employer has offered and in instances whereby employees chose the agreement voluntarily and not as conditions of work.

The bill tries to solve the problem of time that is spent between family and work. A balance between career and family can be an uphill task; therefore the bill ensures that the private sector companies pay time-and-a-half to many hourly employees who work overtime. This gives employees the ability to choose between compensatory time and overtime pay thereby giving them the freedom to go for what they would prefer (Devaney, 2019) . Workers in the country could save up to 160 hours of paid time offs, and at the end of the year, the companies that they work for would pay them for any time that they do not use. Freedom in this bill means that employees would not be forced to take time offs if they preferred to cash in a bigger paycheck. In this case, also, private sector employers would not be forced to participate in the program and in this case, they would continue paying overtime.

The bill was introduced to the house and was referred to the Committee of education and the workforce. The bill currently has passed the house and is expected to be moved to the Congress for approval (Kuenzi, 2019) . According to the votes of the bill, the Republicans seem to be for the bill with 229 vote counts while the Democrats seem to be against the bill accruing 196 votes. The act sets up a dangerous false choice between time and money, whereby both are needed desperately by working families. The bill discourages flexibility in workspaces by taking away the ability of workers to work even harder while planning to balance family time and flexibility at work (Kim, 2018) . If I were a senator or a Congress Man, I would vote against the bill because I believe in true family friend policies whereby hardworking citizens should be given fair wages and also enough time for them to take care of their families. A bill that provides few workers protection in cases of employers' misconduct or bankruptcy is not to be enacted as law to govern citizens who voted for a responsible government that is entitled to protect them in such scenarios (Meric, 2019) . The bill will hurt working women who need to spend more time with their families and have their fair share of wages from their employers. Laws such as this discourages productivity in our citizens.
