Since the outbreak of COVID-19 last year, the aviation industry has been greatly affected. Airlines are developing different ways to enable them recovery from the losses they experienced in the last year and at the same time meet the safety needs of the passengers. The book and the article provide the same message in regard to safety in the aviation industry. According to the book, numerous procedures should be taken to promote the safety of passengers. Some important points highlighted by the authors include training employees and using technology to promote safety (Coulby et al., 2015, p. 312). Similarly, the Aviation Week article highlights the importance of applying technology to promote passenger safety. Dubois and Massy-Beresford, the authors, outline that airlines are using antiviral technologies in the cabin to protect patients from exposure to the virus (Dubois and Massy-Beresford, 2021). The book and the article agree that technology plays a crucial part in promoting passenger safety.
