Running head: BIOLOGY 101 AND HOW IT RELATES TO ANOTHER SUBJECT
Biology 101 and how it relates to another subject
Most of the subjects taught at school are interrelated in one way or the other. The interrelationship makes it easier for the learners to understand the connections that exist between them in the application in the real-life situation. Biology is the study of living organisms. The word biology, however, is derived from the Greek words ‘bios' which means life, and ‘logos' which means study. In this paper, we will discuss the interrelationship between biology subject and two others. For instance, this paper explains how the subject relates to mathematics and statistics as well as sociology.
Biology closely interrelates with mathematics and statistics. When it comes to data collection and analysis, mathematics and statistics are much essential here. This subject helps in the understanding of mutation and genetics. On the other hand, this subject is necessary when conducting organisms census. Also, to understand the complex interaction between genes, proteins and general body reaction to the environment may require innovative mathematical structure. Also, in detecting of the body's systems, large deviations such as ecological pathologies and induced epidemics requires mathematical approach.

In relation with sociology, there are various ways in which these two subjects connect. In essence, sociology is a study of human behavior. In this case, both social and anti-social behaviors require biology. For instance, the investigation of criminal or terrorists involves the study of an individual's nervous system, hormones, and glands. Additionally, the understanding of genetic inheritance is also crucial as it can be used to examine the social-historical background of an individual from their lineage.
