Technology has changed the face of the earth starting with the way we communicate, the way we transfer and store data. The “informalization” era has led to an increased number of knowledgeable workers who have made possible the devolution of information systems. However, the challenge of information breach and intrusion of privacy is on the rise. This issue has made headlines across the world, therefore, it is familiar to the general population. Technology experts who recognize themselves as hackers have continuously harassed individuals by intruding on their privacy.

As more innovations in information technology and the world of IT continue to happen, so is the increase in the breach of personal privacy. As a result, IT firms and individuals have come up with cybersecurity frameworks to protect one from breach of privacy. Norton Internet security recommends the use of strong passwords, installation of strong internet security antivirus, constant update of software, and VPN encryption of data traffic.

The question is, with everyday technology advancements, does the future guarantee information privacy for individuals? The answer is No. there are no guarantees of a secure future, but there are foreseen improvements in the already approved data protection strategies to ensure that privacy of information and individuals is upheld. The current laws against cybercrime seem not scary enough, therefore, there is a need to review and modify the laws of cybercrime and data privacy to ensure that cybercriminals are thoroughly punished. Additionally, it is paramount to teach children about the internet and the benefits of privacy on their prime age. Good upbringing instills value and respect for human privacy.
