Describe the Malthusian debate relative to food in the United States today. What are the major contributing factors to the lack of food? Propose both private and governmental solutions to the lack of food issues in the United States.

According to Thomas Robert Malthus’ prediction, starvation may hit the world if the alarming rate of growing population is not put under control. According to him, the population grows geometrically while food grows arithmetically. This natural inequality may result in starvation. Problems are inclusive of inadequate storage of food, climate change, misuse of funds that are allocated for food, insufficient population planning. Private solutions are inclusive of production of more food, reducing food prices in the market and increasing food efficiency in the market. The government solution includes fund allocation to the food sector; invest in long term food storage and many others.
