The use of marijuana is a controversial and obtrusive aspect within the society today. Further, there are very many malicious remarks concerning the use of marijuana in the past and even still in the present. However, there is scientific importance which is finally resurfacing in regards to its applications. The myths about marijuana and its misrepresentation and misconceptions have surrounded the society due to its abuse by individuals, especially in smoking. In this regards, most of the countries have banned the use of marijuana due to its mental effects on the people abusing it. Although when it is observed for medical purposes, marijuana has proved to be of scientific importance to assist in the treatment of patients within hospitals. Therefore, it is imperative to understand the medicinal uses of marijuana. 

Marijuana has medical importance in reducing pain to related diseases for the patients. Additionally, marijuana also contains a compound known as tetrhyddrocnnabinolis which sit in relieving pain. Notably, reports by national academies of science, medicine, and engineering have conducted several studies to determine the effectiveness of marijuana in reducing pain. As a result, they have proof of the importance of marijuana for medical purposes in various ways (Borowicz, Kaczmarska, & Barbara, 2014). Some of the benefits are that it assists to relief pain ranging from Alzheimer disease to individuals who have cancer and AIDs. In regards to these scientific proof, it is imperative to legalize marijuana to be used for medical purposes to assist patients in reducing pain.

Marijuana used for medical purposes is also essential in assisting muscle spasms within affected individuals. To add on, reports are supporting the use of marijuana due to the available evidence in helping muscle spasms with related multiple sclerosis. Specifically, this is because most of the muscle spasms have responded well to the application of marijuana. On the other hand, there is reasonable evidence that marijuana does not seem to affect the lungs but rather improve it (Borowicz, Kaczmarska, & Barbara, 2014). One study was conducted and published in the American medical association indicates that marijuana does not impair the functioning of the lung but enhances its capacity. Besides, in comparison to the tobacco smokers, individuals using marijuana have fewer effects. 

Nonetheless, marijuana may also be useful in treating glaucoma. There is a possibility in which marijuana may derive a drug to be applied to individuals affected by the disease. Moreover, one of the primary reasons why the states have allowed the use of marijuana is to prevent and treat the eye disease. Specifically, glaucoma affects individuals by increasing the pressure of the eye according to the studies done by national eye institute. Thus, the application of marijuana is essential in lowering intraocular pressure in individuals within normal pressure and those with glaucoma (Borowicz, Kaczmarska, & Barbara, 2014). Further, cannabis may also help in controlling epileptic seizures. Following studies conducted indicates that cannabidiol a compound found in marijuana assist in the treatment of resistant epilepsy. 

Conclusively, the use of marijuana has always been associated with the negative aspect of the public domain. Specifically, this is because individuals are abusing it has been affected in various ways leading to the addition of marijuana in their lives. However, the medical perspectives have not been fully recognized by many people within the society. As a result, several studies have proved the importance of marijuana for medical purposes. One of these medical purposes is the relief of pain among individuals affected by various diseases. Another medicinal use of marijuana is essential in assisting muscle spasms within affected.
