The timeframe that has been allocated for the wedding is not sufficient to carry out all the operations that Lauren. Lauren announced that she is getting married to Connor on December 31 fixing the date of the wedding on January 21. The twenty-two days were not adequate for the proper planning of the wedding. The budget for the wedding was also inflated due to the need to have various activities like the ordering of the clothes and the reservations in a hurry. Lauren and her family have also been proven poor planners of the event as seen in the following. The family failed to settle on a specific budget for the event. That meant that many additional costs were not accounted for in the original budget. Her father estimated that the event would be worth more than she could imagine compared to what Lauren's sister spent on her wedding. The other evidence of poor planning on Lauren's side was the decision made on the date of the wedding. She fixed the date without consulting the family members as well as considering the budget they were working on as a family to throw her a perfect wedding.

The family was not sure of the wedding venue on January 21. Lauren's mother suggested that they would reserve the church as the venue for her daughter's big day. Nonetheless, the family had to make reservations in perfect time or part with $ 200 to facilitate the quickening of the reservation process, which was initially set to take seven days. The family had not settled for the photographer for Lauren's wedding. Photographers in the United States of America are currently being booked even twelve months before the actual events (Schmieder, 2017). In that case, it would be hard for Lauren to have a qualified photographer for her big day with Connor. While planning for their wedding, Lauren and her family have not talked about the officiant of the wedding. The lack of the officiant will make it hard for Connor and Lauren to be legally married. The stipulated time is also not enough for all the guests that Lauren would like to have at the wedding ceremony. For instance, the family finds out that the invitations have to be at least ten days before the wedding. That implies that most of the guests will not make it to the ceremony. For the few guests that will attend, there will be reduced capability to gift the newly wedded couple. Owing to the increase in the level of technology and its influence in the various spheres of life in the twenty-first century, aspiring couples find it necessary to have a wedding website designed for them (Hasti et al., 2018). The wedding website serves the purpose of ensuring that the guests are aware of the essential dates and venues as well as the changes in them. Of course, setting up and managing a website is an added cost to the event organizers, but it becomes a vital tool for the interconnectedness with the parties who are supposed to attend the wedding (Hasti et al., 2018).

Lauren can also decide to turn things around and carry on with the wedding plans. If that is the case, Lauren will have new options to ensure that her big day is a success. The first option is to have the bridesmaids' dresses sewn in her locality (Myung & Smith, 2018). Since collecting the material and having them made in New York takes time forcing the family to add more money to it, the best idea will be to have them made near their home. The other option is to have her wedding outside the church (Myung & Smith, 2018). That will reduce the reservation costs that her mother explained regarding the location of the venue. The other option that Lauren may find useful is to have a short list of guests (Myung & Smith, 2018). The more the guests that the family will invite, the more the costs they are guaranteed to incur. The first item that Lauren will need to put into consideration for the success of her wedding with Connor is to have a ring for the event. The family had not accounted for it. However, it is a symbol of the union that Connor is about to have with Lauren. The other items that the family can have for the wedding are cards and forms that request the targeted guests to contribute some money for the planning of the big day and the execution of the plans (Myung & Smith, 2018). The contributions will offset some of the financial crisis that the family might be going through as they strive to make sure that the wedding day will be perfect. The last item that the family needs to ensure the wedding is a success is the wedding dress. In as much as Lauren's mother has offered her wedding dress to her daughter, Lauren needs to be unique in her style but keep it simple. The items will be essential to the planning of a good wedding for Lauren in the short time that they have.
