I chose this video because it talks about a Virginia Henderson, nursing theorists, who has contributed a lot in the nursing both in research and in the hospital setting. The theorist advocated for each nurse to have a principle that is to guide him in the nursing care.
My personal philosophy agrees with some aspects of the nursing theory of the theorist. The role of the nurse is to help the patient to perform some daily activities which he can’t perform because of the ill health. The nurse should assist the patient in meeting his physical, emotional and social needs. The nurse should assist the patient to release waste, breath easily, to take enough foods and fluids.in addition, the nurse should assist the patient in maintaining the right postures when eating and sleeping. In addition, the nurse should be available for his patients until when they gain independence.

As a nurse I intend to have a good relationship with my patients, something that the theorist stresses on. I agree with the theorist on the part where the nurse is the gatekeeper of the healthcare system. The nurse should also have confidence anytime he\ she is providing primary health care. I liked the part of the research process. Research is very important in nursing profession because it helps in improving the human health and the nursing practice in general. the theorist explains that the nurse can be able to solve the problem that occur in the clinical setting through carrying out literature review, designing a research study, collecting data, interpreting the data, reaching conclusions and making recommendations to be used in improving the provision of the primary care.
As a nurse, I intend to be equipped with the current knowledge in nursing that is essential in the providence of the best primary care to the patients. This can be achieved through developing a plan of care for the patient and also collecting the right information by doing research. I also liked the part of using the literature and the evidence. This is important as the nursing practice requires the use of evidence. The nurses should use the evidence from the previous research in their practice.
I support the idea of the theorist concerning the use of a language that the patient can understand. This is because the information is about his health and he has to understand it. It should be made easier for the patients to access their medical records. I don’t agree with the theorist on the idea that the future doctor would consult the physician.
I was surprised that the role of the nurse is to assist the patent in the dying process. It is hard to comprehend the role of the nurse in the death of the patient. I was also surprised that the theorist did not have any plans for the future and she allowed life to flow naturally.
I would recommend someone to watch the video. This is because it talks about some of the principles of nursing and the contribution of Virginia to theNursing field.

I also learnt that a nurse should be modest in his knowledge. In addition, I discovered the importance of involving the patient in planning his\ her care. It’s important to listen to the patient and try to meet their medical needs. I also learnt that I should do my work in such a way that it makes me feel that I have accomplished my goal of nursing.
