The physical differences between men and women are dissimilar, but for the psychological comprehension of differences in personality as prescribed by personality, it becomes complex to find out the origins of a difference. The complexities surrounding the influences in personality as prescribed from gender are hard to separate from other influences such as environment and society (Jarrett, 2016). I explored the facts surrounding gender personalities so that I could find out whether the differences were gender-based or predominantly the influences of social and cultural events around them.

As a woman, I came to understand that there are personality differences between men and women. However, more insight into our personalities bore the following deductions:

There is a degree of personality that is purely based on gender.

Gender personalities are molded through social and cultural events around men and women.

The molding produces different variations from the original personalities.

Therefore, men and women are born different, and society shapes them too.

The advantages of being male or female in society

The expectations of personalities in men and women as prescribed by society

As a woman, I have been fascinated by the different personalities we exhibit as a variation from men. My activity was to seek whether the differences are gender-based or a result of the influences both genders go through while living in a society based on cultures and social inclining. I learn a few attributes that pushed me to believe that being a man or a woman results in a predetermined personality trait before society and culture play their part. As a woman or being female, my personality gravitates towards being warm, friendlier, more anxious, and more sensitive to my feelings. Men turn out assertive and open to new ideas. The deduction means that there is a predetermined pattern in the kind of personality each gender has. Out of this conclusion, I could understand that just from the fact of being female, the expectation to act in some type of way is apparent. However, what I may not be able to ascertain is whether it is still acceptable to society if the variations to the norm personalities are still acceptable to society. The predetermined personalities in men and women and the existence of different social and cultural norms influence the variance in personalities either for good or bad. As a female, I believe that if society understands the personality findings that women are destined to have an upper hand in societal opportunities, especially at a time when organizations are promoting diversity in different realms. If a woman is considered warm, sensitive, and friendlier, then the attributes are a plus for organizational representation. The same can trickle down to society and community. However, sometimes there could be a double standard applied mostly when the moderators in society are afflicted by traditional tendencies. For instance, women are the weaker sex. They will then choose men over women. The discoveries make me change my mind to believe that the female role is narrower and restrictive because of our anxiety, but this can be viewed as an advantage in organizational terms if that is its general objective. The cultural beliefs about gender tend to influence our personalities greatly. Take, for instance, a culture that believes that women are supposed to be reserved and held back, their personalities will be influenced, maybe in external terms but inwardly stick to the predetermined variations. I feel that my gender identity has influenced who I am, and society has had a role in molding the variations that I exhibit. However, if my gender was to change overnight, then I would be one of the stray personalities as gender change does not automatically come with internal personality traits.
