The central African Republic ranks as one of the poorest countries in Africa and across the world. The poverty levels can be attributed to the civil war in the country. The civil war took place between 2012 and 2014 where I momentarily stopped and some calmness restored in the country. However, the conflict among the numerous armed groups erupted once again in the year 2016. Since then, violent attacks have been perpetrated in various parts of the country. This has resulted in a humanitarian crisis in the country. Poverty, poor health and loss of property are among the results of the war.

My youtube video is a documentary that covers the predicament of the people of the Central African Republic. The video details the impacts of the war on the livelihood of the citizens. Access to medical care, food and shelter has been hindered by the ongoing war. The most vulnerable citizens, women, and children are the most affected. The video documents school going children who have no access to education. Most of the learning institutions have been torched by the armed militia, and this has cut short the dreams of the young generation in the country. The video also details the plight of women under the cruel hands of the armed militia. The violence against women and children is evident in the video.

The video also highlights the poorly developed infrastructure in the country as a result of the war. Most of the roads are impassable due to the destruction done by the armed groups. Lack of a firm government has resulted in the poor provision of social amenities such as hospitals and learning institutions. The documentary shows the suffering that the citizens, especially those who are injured in the war face. Some have to live with untreated gun-shot wounds, and this puts most of them at risk of infections and death.

The documentary has become popular because it puts into perspective the needs of these citizens. Highlighting their plight helps to inform international bodies such as the United Nations to initiate a reconciliation process to end the civil war. Also, bodies such as the World Health Organization may take part in ensuring that innocent citizens get adequate medical care. The effect that the documentary has makes it popular among the people hence the numerous likes.
