The invention of computing back in the 1950s is one of the most relevant milestones that have borne fruits in the twenty-first century. The invention of the internet has complemented the use of the computer, which has affected the current world in numerous manners. The computer revolution in global society has brought about both advantages and disadvantages. Among the merits of the computer revolution, are the decreases in the time used to handle various tasks, the simplification of work, and the reduction in the costs used to manage the multiple functions in different organizations (Kilic, 2015). The other advantage of the computer revolution is that it has contributed to globalization, a force that has been the cornerstone of the emergence of social and political benefits to the people around the world. The computer revolution has led to demerits like the loss of jobs for the many people whose functions in an organization have been replaced by machinery.

Globalization has been described as the process of integration and interaction among people from different cultures, companies from various industries and the governments of the various countries. Globalization has made the world interconnected and functioning as if everyone were in a small village. The computer revolution has been a crucial part in the advancement of globalization. Politically, globalization has led to the advocacy of international peace, which has led to the common fight against terrorism, and anti-governmental troops that used to terrorize citizens of various countries such as Iraq (Kilic, 2015). Globalization has also made countries to be involved in political fora that strengthen the countries with an example of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) that comprises of countries in the eastern and southern Africa (Kilic, 2015). Economically, globalization has led to the alleviation of suffering from diseases, hunger, and poverty as the various humanitarian groups from the different parts of the world collaboratively come together to reduce human suffering.
