Change is the process of transforming. To change is to make an essential difference that will amount to the loss of originality of behavior or a particular situation. To progress in certain areas, one has to elicit change by making several alterations that are significant to the progress of your work. It is upon yourself to rattle things up so that you have a desired future. The "Trim Tab" principle outlines on how to change, no matter the size can make a significant impact on the progress of work or a situation. The principle implies that one should focus on themselves and on what they can accurately do to make an impact. Those small changes that you can identify and work on as an individual may lead to impressive results.

From the video I have watched, one key point that resonates with me is; the fact that change does not necessarily have to be big for me to make a significant contribution to the workplace. The "Trim Tab" principle puts merely it clear that our energy should be directed at making small changes to alter the situations that we are to better conditions. As an individual you do not want to wait for the whole organization to act first. It is upon you to make the first step. Make contributions to improve the organization through your actions. Just like the small change that a trim tab does that makes a big ship to set on a different course, you can do the same at your workplace. The secret to this is to figure out that little particular thing which you can do that will result in significant outcomes for the benefit of the organization.

For example, at my workplace, I have observed how a small change can result in more significant results. Previously, it was particularly challenging to sell medical equipment to older adults because of their rigid nature. Hence, most employees preferred to sell to other people. Our sales manager made this change by hitting the highest number of sales in a week and all of this to was sold to elderly persons. The secret he said was patience and tolerance. After we all embraced this, it was evident that the profits skyrocketed. So the sales manager had identified a weakness, and he took the initiative to change this by setting an example. Had he not confronted the situation then nobody will have changed their mind.

In my facility, there are significant signs of the possibility of achieving great things in the future. The staff here shows tremendous efforts in contributing to the growth of the facility. Great ideas are being brought up daily, and all the members seem to be goal oriented. With such a spirit, it is evident that the facility will achieve most of its objectives. I can be a "Trim Tab" within my organization by ensuring that I do not entirely wait for the whole department to provide solutions to problems that I feel I can make changes to solve them. Making the right shift to change at the right time will help me achieve this. From the "Trim Tab" principle, I have learned that it is all about embracing resistance and shifting your mindset so that you can make a significant impact that is influential to the organization.

In conclusion, change is merely making alterations that you believe will give a better result. By eliciting change then you will positively contribute towards the success of the organization. From the "Trim Tab" principle it is true that a minimal effort that you make towards change can be highly influential in the direction that your organization takes towards achieving its objectives. Hence, do not hesitate in identifying areas that need change and also working on it through actions.
