Though faithful Muslims consider the Qur’an as an altered words of God, so they think it was sent as a correction to previous Torah and gospel. According to history, the first creation of Muslim community dates back to the 7 th Century. Therefore, Qur’an shouldn’t be considered a historical text. There are challenges a reader could face trying to interpret the Qur’an. This depicts itself due to the fact that the large portions memorized in the childhood regulates the evaluation and interpretation of every event. (Stowasser 64)
Qur’an can never be the world’s most ideologically influential text as long as children are forced to memorize passages they don’t understand. Secondly, there are more Christians in the world than Muslims, therefore Qur’an cannot be the most ideologically influential text. The Bible was here long before Qur’an so it can’t qualify. Children are forced to memorize the scriptures in the Qur’an so that they can take part in the annual competition held in Cairo. Also children that do not memorize the Qur’an are punished. The Qur’an emphasizes on women modesty and decency. Most Muslim women believe that their liberation lies in the hijab. The Qur’an requires Muslim women to cover themselves to avoid being sexually objectified. The hijab helps women to focus on their self-identity and not to please others. The Qur’an strongly requires all Muslim women to put on hijab and the Khumur. The Khumur covers their ears, neck and their upper bosom. The same Qur’an also states that wives, daughters and women of believers to put on their jalabib. Jalabib means the outer loose garment that they put on their head and lets it down their bosom.
