The objective of this research was to determine the correlation between home size and factors such as the amount of heating oil required, occupancy level, home age, insulation rating, and outdoor temperature. The study seeks to determine how home size influences the factors associated with heating appliances to maintain a steady temperature. The research question used the following hypotheses:
Null Hypothesis ( H0 ): Home size affects outdoor temperature, insulation rating, home age, number of occupants, and heating oil used.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
The alternative hypothesis ( H1 ): Home size does not correlate with outdoor temperature, insulation rating, home age, number of occupants, and heating oil used.
Regarding the research question outlined in this study, the most appropriate research design would be a quantitative technique. Fundamentally, the study requires data collected over time to determine the relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable. The dependent variable used in the study is the home size. Several independent variables used in the study include outdoor temperature, insulation rating, home age, number of occupants, and heating oil used.
The findings indicate that the significance is great, with F>F crit (F = 985 and F crit = 0). The regression and residual output also show a significant difference, with the df = 1213 for the residual and SS being 3140290012. Wilk’s Lambda (1-R 2 ) also indicating a strong statistical significance is 0.197589789. Overall, the statistical analysis indicates that home size has a strong correlation with outdoor temperature, insulation rating, home age, number of occupants, and heating oil used. A possible implication of this research on social change is to design homes that can support the appropriate number of individuals to reduce expenditure on heating and insulation.
