Moving up the career ladder requires not just academic qualification but special knowledge and understanding of how the management of the organization operates and handles various daily and unique situations in the workplace. A key point to note and adapt is the communication and the decision-making style of the boss. This information will help an employee become a team player and work well towards achieving the organization's objectives. A team player is an asset to any organization and most importantly it is important when that team player understands how the top management of the organization operates. Understanding the communication and decision-making style of the manager helps the employee avoid and manage conflicts in the workplace and be in the favor of the top management. Being in favor of the top management can lead to promotions and create essential career networks that can be useful in future. 

Communication is important for any organization among workers and with their management. Interference in the channels of communication leads to misunderstanding among people. It is important that workers understand their bosses including cues they should look out in order to have effective communication. Behavior while communicating with the managers is important for instance instead of just airing problems an employee is advised to give some solutions to the problems they present to their managers. Presentation of potential solutions creates a good impression to the management and could lead to an appraisal in future. It is also important that employees understand that the behavior of their boss is not about trying to harm them in any way. Understanding each other in the workplace is important, as an employee it is crucial to understand how your performance reflects on the whole organization and also the performance of your boss.

Management controls are crucial for any organization to ensure that the employees are performing as they ought to and consequently achieving the organizations objective. Various organizations exert control differently depending on what works best for them. It is important that control is exercised in the workplace for instance without any form of control people will act as they seem fit which will affect the performance at the workplace negatively. There are different types of control which include bureaucratic control, market control and clan control. Each organization identifies which system works for them and implements it. Controls help people adhere to the rules of the organization and work towards the rules of the organization. Budgets ensure there are no wastages and people are working within the set parameters. Chains of command are important to ensure that there is a management team in place that is overseeing the operations of the organization. 

Technology is important for any organization that hopes to achieve its objective effectively and effectively with limited resources. It is crucial that organizations adopt the latest technology which helps them cut on costs and work efficiently in whatever sector they are in the economy. Technology helps an organization to exercise some sort of control that is crucial for the management to ensure that their employees are working as is expected of them. Developing and implementing new technology is not easy. Development is costly and later the innovators have to assure the public that the technology is crucial and important to adopt and implement in their organizations. There are three types of innovations found in other organizations which include product innovation, process innovation and business model innovation. There are various forces behind any technological development which include demand for the technology. Demand enables the users to quickly adopt it when invented. There is a need for funds to create the technology, skilled labor, time and spaces are also essential to ensure complete development of a technology. A lot of resources go into inventions and it is important that any top management of any organization invests in technology. 

Managers and leaders set the direction into which an organization works towards hence achieving its goals and objectives. It is the duty of an organizations leadership team to create and organize for implementation of technology. Positive change is important for any organization especially when new crucial technology is introduced.it is the duty of the managers to ensure that the employees transition well without any hindrance to their performance at work. The core values and goals of an organization should not be altered during the adoption of a new technology. There are various theories explaining the adoption of new technology by users and such theories should study and understood to help employees adopt new technology within a short period of time. 

In conclusion, there are various things that an individual needs to know and understand for them to move up their career ladder. Academic qualifications are not sufficient to get there and remain at the top. The article states that there is need to note and adapt is the communication and the decision-making style of the boss. It is important that workers understand their bosses including cues they should look out in order to have effective communication. Secondly, as an employee, it is crucial to understand how your performance reflects on the whole organization and also the performance of your boss. Technology is an important factor for the growth of an organization and the management plays an important role. The management sets the direction and implements controls for the workers ensuring they are delivering on their responsibilities as expected.
