Community health nurses are trained nurses who have been registered to undertake responsibilities in public health facilities such as schools, businesses, county or national healthcare providers. Due to the roles and responsibilities of the community health nurse as caregivers, they frequently develop close relationships with the local communities they serve which often leads to long lasting bonds. They become community experts on wellness as well as health (Witten, 2014) . They work closely and in harmony with the other community leaders in their day to day activities and in some cases they have been confused to be the leaders of the community. A community health nurse can be found treating illness, coordinating emergence and disaster preparations or running a clinic on a normal working day. 

The roles of a community nurse and leader include; acting as educators, research experts, advocates of the community, injury and illness prevention experts, emergency preparation specialists and healthcare professionals (Witten, 2014) . A community health nurse focuses on care for diseases prevention. They work to curtail and control the spreading of flu and any other communicable infections. Being educators, they focus on providing materials in a clear and comprehensive format. They offer materials and critical information to people, families as well as communities that will enable them to develop a system for healthy lifestyle and choices. They also hold seminars and sessions on management of diabetes and other chronic diseases in public gatherings.

As a community leader, they use informed evidence in implementing quality practices and policies (Witten, 2014) . They manage collaborative changes to come up with a successful health results and offer crucial social as well as medical services. Being researchers, they gather and use information to implement changes for better health for the local people. The research can also be applied in validating public health funding and increase of access to health care services.
