The speech on The History of YouTube 2017 is one of the most engaging presentations of YouTube’s history, albeit covering a short period. The choice of topic by the creator of this presentation chooses a topic that is interesting to the audience seeing that most people who seek to find out about YouTube are likely to start with identifying the history of the giant video sharing platform in a bid to understand how it is designed to meet the goals of the content creators and satisfy the users experience. The topic is succinctly perfect for anyone looking for an updated version of the company’s success because the presentation focuses on the major highlights of 2017 on the platform. Additionally, the chosen topic highlights the purpose of the presentation. The focus on 2017 indicates a clear focus on the purpose of the presentation, the need to analyze how YouTube performed in a specific period, and how this becomes part of the holistic YouTube’s history.

The speaker in the speech made a very subtle but concise history on the emergence of YouTube, going into details on how YouTube attributes its rise on the fall of a Twitter-owned platform, Vine. Vine was a platform where users made money from creating video content, but it later shut down, forcing such content creators to migrate to their respective YouTube channels. The information herein indicates the intricate research that the speaker has conducted on the influx of users as well as the migration of content creators from another site to the YouTube channels. The speaker took time to study how the closing down of another platform spelled good fortunes for the YouTube owners. Ideally, this piece of information which is supported by evidence of the same shows how well organized the speaker is and how keen he is to study the topic.

Interestingly, the background of YouTube’s success from the shutting down of the famous Vine forms the introduction of the speaker’s presentation. The introduction is so vivid and well-crafted to capture the audience by presenting information that is curious to the listeners. Additionally, the comparison and the revelation of the Vine migration shows that the speaker has factual information when the speaker presents a quick overview as evidence to back his claim. Again, the introduction serves as an orientation to the audience since the speaker gives a brief analysis of what he was going to capture in the speech.

One of the most substantial parts about the whole speech is the presentation details that makes the listener follow the speech keenly. The presentation is vivid and presents a clear presentation of the history behind the recent success of YouTube. In the speech, the speaker uses a captivating voice when he stresses on the main points of his argument. The tonal variation captures the attention of the audience throughout the presentation since it is expertly employed to keep the listener glued. The tonal variation is part of the presentation details that makes the presentation lively and vivid (Bolden & Hepburn, 2018).

Additionally, the content that the speaker presents as evidence and the information shared is appropriate. Ideally, the issue of the appropriateness of content is tackled through this speech because it discusses content appropriateness of content on YouTube. If the content of the video were inappropriate, it would not be showing on YouTube. Again, the information is not damaging to the company that YouTube reaps from, making the comparison objective. Not only is the speech well organized, but the message presented is also strong and powerfully conveyed. The widespread use of all aspects of communication that create a vivid presentation, coupled with a well-organized flow of ideas in the argument work to make the speech quite efficient.

One of the issues with the way the speaker presented his information is the overshadowing of specific main points. The number of issues raised was slightly above what the ten minutes could accommodate. Therefore, one of the main points was not quite as elaborate as the rest. However, the style of presentation is personalized by the speaker. One of the ways the speaker keeps the audience engaged is through his presentation is an act that has two narrators. The variation of voices for the two different characters emphasizes the points the speaker intends to pass across using rhetorical questions (Chen, 2018). Ostensibly, the speaker poses the question to the audience and using the other character, he lets the audience know his opinion. The changes made in the mode of presentation are part of making the speech relevant, concise, and engaging. Thus, the audience finds it easy to follow the buildup of the speaker’s argument.

In conclusion, the speech reiterates the thesis statement. In the speech, the thesis statement states the speaker’s intent to show that Vine was one of the most significant contributors to YouTube’s success. The following content is made of supporting sections of the speech that creates more relevance of this initial claim. In conclusion, the speaker is keen to make an observation that 2017 might have been challenging for YouTube, but it is still poised for success since it has built a perfect platform for the previous Vine content creators. The use of an appropriate form of conclusion story marks that the speaker marks an end to any new information on the topic, and he captures his main points effectively. To help the speaker make an engaging and informative speech, the speaker uses none of the non-verbal communication aids, probably because of his choice of presentation, but efficiently uses verbal cues. The tonal variation through intonation as evident in his speech, and the use of necessary pauses makes the speech compelling.
