Introduction

Teen pregnancy is becoming a vice in the society we are living today since young girls in the age under 16 years are engaging in unprotected intercourse. This has led to increased unwanted deaths as well as an increased number of girls dropping out of school. Over the past few years, there has been a drastic increase in the number of this problem raising the concern to address the issue.

Literature Review

According to Howard, addressing issues of adolescent health currently can strengthen the nation in the future( Koh 2014) . More so it is paramount that teen pregnancy should be prioritized due to the negative effects such as emotional, social health and financial consequences for both the children who are victims and the parents or guardians. In addition, he cites in his work the more scientific side effects that are bound to happen to the children born to the teens.

Methodology

In a clear assessment of the work by Howard, it was conducted in the United States by accessing journals and statistics from several National statistics centers in The United States which include National Center for Health Statistics, Center for Disease Control and many more. Interacting with Medical doctors was also a way of information gathering for this work to be complete and a success( Koh 2014)

Summary of Results/Findings

In his work Howard, illustrates that one of the main preventive measures was launching of Teen Pregnancy Prevention program as a central focus to disseminate and employ the best prevention science available as well as generating new evidence for effective strategies( Koh 2014)

Conclusion

Teen pregnancies need to be reduced by all means necessary in any case eradication of the vice would be much better. Fighting the problem should not be a one-sided fight but rather should be a combination of all parties involved to ensure that the young girls are protected at all cost.Howard in his work has cited severally that preventing teen pregnancy should rank as a major priority and not only to the federal government but to the society at large( Koh 2014)

Suggestions for Future Research/Implications, and individual Reflection

Howard in his work he has dwelt much on the introduction of the Teen Pregnancy Prevention (TPP) and forgetting the much more that can be done to ensure that the results are achieved effectively. In the future, the research should involve all those who are implicated by the problem such as the guardians, the victims and the society at large on how they can integrate to help stop the problem. It is my opinion that educating the young girls from the grass root would be much better since they will understand better.
