The United States has a significant role to play in the end of the Spanish-American War. Over the past few years, William McKinley has made several visits to the French Ambassador, aiming to agree on an armistice. This action has demonstrated his political skills and foreign policy. There has been a wide consensus and consultations prior to the Treaty of Paris, and many French officials have regarded American expansion. The Treaty of Paris will have a wide range of benefits to the United States. The United States will acquire more territories such as Guam and Puerto.

The decision to determine the end of the Spanish American war or allow the war to continue lies in the vote's outcome. The Philippines' acquisition will play a critical role in preventing the entry of other European nations aiming o take control of the region with limited capacity to govern themselves. The Philippines is a region of strategic importance to the United States due to its control over pacific shipping lanes with ideal places with good harbors and ship refueling and supplies replenishment. The United States taking over the Philippines will prevent other nations from taking over the Philippines and meddling with the pacific's United States operations. The Philippines also comprise an important market for many goods produced in America. The Philippines' proximity to China will also be essential in opening up the market for American goods in China. Taking over the Philippines will facilitate civilization in the region. Philippines takeover will have many benefits to both United States and the Philippines.
