I chose this category because of the role it plays in the beliefs of various religions. Every religion has own beliefs about the existence and nature of God. The nature of God is very controversial from one religion to another as the beliefs differ. Christian’s view of the nature of God is different from the Islam view. However, most of the religions believe in God as the creator and omnipresent being who watches over everyone. Each religion worship their creator, seeing him as the one who made everything that exists including human beings. This makes this category very appealing. The belief that he the creator made everything, and that he is a universal supernatural being who sees everything from above, blesses the righteous and punishes evildoers is another appealing factor in this category.

Understanding the nature of the creature is important in the study of religion. This is because of the controversies that surround the whole issue as to how God exists. Some even question if God exists. In the study of religion, it is quite important to understand what view each religion have concerning the nature of God. This will be useful in avoiding controversies and conflicts that surrounds the whole issue. For example, understanding the nature of God will help in knowing that Christian religion sees God in a single trinity which consists of the father, the son and the Holy Spirit. Islam religion, on the other hand, does not believe in the holy trinity, but they believe that Allah exists in spiritual form and that he sees everything that goes on in the universe. Hindu also have their view of the nature of God. They see Brahman as the absolute reality. It is therefore important that anyone studying religion to understand the view of each religion concerning the nature of God. This will help one know as to understand how to deal with each religion member without causing any conflict or a feeling of religion discrimination

Nature of God is very significant to every religion in various ways. To Christianity, God is seen as the creator of everything that exists and it is believed he rules over the universe ( Pipes, 2017) . Through the nature of God, Christians see a universal being in heaven who sees everything on earth. He can bless those who are obedient while those who disobey his commandments are punished. Nature of God is important to Judaism because of it through this, they believe in only one God who is the sole and source of all creations. They further believe in god as being an omnipresent, omnipotent and an eternal creator who is holy, just, merciful and perfect. This category is further important to Sikhism because they believe in one prevailing god called Lk Onkar. Nature of the creator is important to the Hinduism religion because it makes them understand that a sacred sound called Aum was the initial of creation where Brahman is seen as the definitive reality which has three roles manifested by the three gods called Shiva, Brahma, and Vishnu ( Brodd, 2013 ). While Brahma is seen as the maker of everything, Vishnu has the responsibility of preserving and maintaining all the good things in the world. Nature of God has also formed the Jainism beliefs in god. They believe in the existence of God, though they don’t perceive him as a creator but rather as a victor who has freed himself from the oppression. Nature of God is thus a significant to each of the religion as it is through this that they generate their beliefs.

In my life, I have noticed the nature of God as considered being omnipresent when Christians worship him everywhere. I have seen Christians pray and worship not only in churches but also at some stadium. This confirms the belief in god that he is omnipresent and not only found inside a church. They also use the Bible during worship where verses are read and used by the preacher to teach on the ways of God and how to obey the commandments of God. People go on their knees to pray to God for forgiveness because of the belief that he punishes the sinners.

Beliefs about the nature of god have affected the way people from different religions live. The Christian belief in the Ten Commandments and God's punishment for the evil doers have changed the lives of many. People try to live a holy file, to follow the commandments and to avoid evil deeds because they believe God will punish them. This belief about the nature of God and what he requires thus impact directly on how Christians live. Similarly, those who practice Hindu live according to their beliefs about the creator. They live to obey and follow what the creator wants and try to avoid what is considered wrong by their creator. Muslims also try to live by what Allah wants of them and to follow the Quran ( Watt, 2013 ). Since they believe that Allah exists in spiritual form and is always omnipresent, people change their actions and try to live according to what is expected. This is because of the belief that God punishes evil doers and blesses the good people. Nature of God can, therefore, be said to have a direct impact on the daily lives of people from various religions. People live according to their beliefs about the nature of God.
