Body Content

This section will have a detailed discussion or rather an argument on how the author of the story “A Good Man is Hard to find” brings out the theme on the topic. Flannery O'Connor has used different literature devices to prove how wrongdoers suffer the end consequences that might not be so good.

The author dramatizes the struggle people undergo to overcome evil with good.

Death moments in the story are a test for the character as well as compassion.

The writer is a Gothic from the south portrays the theme of violence, death as well as Christianity in all his stories.

Towards the end, there will be a brief explanation of personal opinion on how effective the theme is applied to the story.

Conclusion

A conclusion captures a summary of ideas expressed in the body. Its principal aim is to show how the facts explained in the essay relate to the thesis statement in the introduction and also the title of the argumentative essay.

Introduction

Flannery O’Connor have used irony to show the horrifying effects of disobedience in the society. Failing to follow simple rules and doing things out of anxiety leads to sudden violence in with unknown enemies. The author tries to justify the rare occurrence of such events by lulling the characters as well as the audience into a false security of non-occurrence ( O'Connor, 2015) . The courage portrayed by the grandmother to take a family to the undefined destination is a symbol of how anxiety in the modern days leads people to tragedies. The title of the story itself “A good Man is Hard to find” is an image of how the society is full of individuals who pretend to be good but their actions are immoral. The author makes good use of the theme of good and evil to the level of immorality in the community. Many people fall into the category of evil whose consequences at the end are painful and humiliating. Therefore, failing to follow the virtues of the society either by ignorance or lack of knowledge can result to negative as well as violent consequences.

The author at some point uses Christianity to argue against the topic theme. That is due to the beliefs that Christians possess on redemption. Even the evil souls on the universe shall have a chance of recovery during the death moments. However, the old lady character in the story who acts like a mastered seed will have the opportunity to grow a crow-filled tree in her heart ( O'Connor, 2015) . The pain that she will undergo in the process of turning into prophet is a clear indication of the suffering that awaits wrongdoers as the end results. Therefore, being a Christian does not mean that those who do not follow the rules of the society will escape the punishment. Their redemption shall be painful enough to make them pay for their deeds.
