I find this interesting because more often than not employers and even hotel managements ignore African and Islamic names.

The other concept is language misunderstanding. One can be misunderstood based on their tone or use of ambiguous words.
This is interesting because what one person says can mean something totally different to another person, I wonder how often I misunderstand other people’s languages.

I use the power of languages to be more convincing when I’m seeking for favours. I love to use oh wow when I’m dumfounded and people often misunderstand it especially in sad situations.

I think the power of language and language misunderstanding are important because the two can help in making judgements and warning people to be careful not to be misunderstood which may bring about conflicts.

Why I find it interesting.
Listening allows one to understand the information being portrayed. Asking for advice and listening makes people take one seriously.

Any time I find myself job hunting, being a good listener gives me higher chances of securing the job.

Listening is important in communication because it ensures that the right information is passed on.
The second concept is bad listening habits.
Why I find it interesting
Filtering what one likes is a bad listening habit and can make a person to miss important information. Some people pretend to listen when they are actually thinking about other things or become defense listeners even when the other person has no intention of hurting them.

Knowing that I can lose important information makes me to work on my bad listening habits.
