Hello everyone, my name is [ ], and I am glad to be part of this nursing class. The desire to help and foster the general wellness of vulnerable populations has been the core driver of my desire to become a nurse. The mission, vision, and goals advanced by Walden University resonate with my career objectives. The institution's mission is to offer a platform that acts as a connection hub that fosters collaboration and action research that would yield sustainable social change (Walden University 2020). This mission statement correlates with my professional goals of offering efficacious care and contribute to the human race through public health interventions and the protection of vulnerable populations through initiatives such as public education and participating in community health programs. Also, the vision statement is relevant to my desired academic and professional aspirations. Walden’s vision is to serve as an important catalyst that is committed to helping individuals pursuing social change to connect and affect positive change in society (Walden University 2020). As a scholar, I would like to indulge in research and collaborate with fellow students, mirror nursing practitioners, and work with evidence-based researchers. I believe that doing so will allow me to develop core competencies that will inform my practice in nursing settings.
The MSN learning outcomes are aligned with my professional and academic objectives. The outcomes would be integral in molding me into an informed and competent scholar-practitioner. The MSN program will enable me to synthesize system or organizational leadership models, an attribute that would inform my leadership approach in the healthcare settings. This would make me an informed leader that is focused on affecting positive social change and promoting the dissipation of high-quality medical services. Furthermore, the ability to critique evidence-based literature that I will have developed by the end of the MSN program will allow me not only to synthesize complex nursing literature but also integrate proven research findings into my practices. As a result, I will be able to deliver high-quality patient-centered care that is informed by research findings. Moreover, the ability to assess, diagnose, and plan will allow me to reduce the incidence of mistakes in my care delivery process.
